Intern in the commercial department at the Danish Embassy in Lithuania
We are looking for someone who gets excited over a possibility to get involved in market analysis, planning meetings and events, participating in conferences and events as well as in networking with business people, experts, politicians and diplomats. An internship with us will not only allow you to work with business related assignments, but will also give you the opportunity to get a broader knowledge of Lithuanian society through the Embassy’s work with trade, politics, defence and culture.
The Embassy in Vilnius offers an exciting and challenging work environment, where you can test and develop your professional competencies. You will work with experienced colleagues in the commercial field in order to promote and help Danish business at the Lithuanian and Baltic markets. At the same time you will have an opportunity to learn about life and culture in Lithuania and the other Baltic countries and live in the old town of Vilnius – one of the most charming European cities with many university students.
Lithuania is an important partner for Denmark and offers an attractive market for the Danish companies. The Embassy’s Trade Department is a part of a regional cooperation in the Baltic-Finish sub-region. The Trade Department assists Danish companies in export promotion and Economic Diplomacy in order to secure the best conditions for Danish companies at the Lithuanian and Baltic markets. The intern will be part of the regional team and on a daily basis work in close cooperation with two commercial advisers in Vilnius.
The internship lasts for 6 months from 1 August 2017 until 31 January 2018.
You must be a graduate student of a university in the field of economics and/or business. We encourage Danish, Lithuanian as well as international students to apply. Foreign nationals may be offered an internship at the Embassy provided they have lived in Denmark for a number of years, are enrolled in an education programme at a Danish institution of higher education and are, at the time of application, residing in Denmark.
The aim of the internship
The internship will contribute to the student’s education and will be organized in a manner that will ensure credit transfer if the intern’s place of study permits this.
Expectations for the intern
To be considered you must be enrolled at a Danish institution of higher education with a minimum of a bachelor’s degree. Proficiency in English and preferably, but not compulsory, also in Danish, overview, independence and good interpersonal skills are also requirements.
In addition, the existence of security clearance is a requirement before starting the internship. The security clearance will be obtained by the Embassy.

You can use your SU grant during the internship, as internship is unpaid. Actual costs of living in Vilnius are somewhat lower than in Denmark.
