Welcome to the Danish Embassy in Lithuania

The embassy represents Danish interests in Lithuania and Denmark's and Lithuania's common interests. Denmark was one of the first countries to recognize the independence of Lithuania and re-established the diplomatic relations 24 August 1991.

Together with the other Nordic countries Denmark supported Lithuania morally, politically and economically after the independence. This year the 25 anniversary for diplomatic relations will be celebrated. Denmark and Lithuania have close relations  - politically, military, economically and culturally.

The embassy has three departments - the political department, the defence department and the trade department. The defence department covers all three Baltic countries. The trade department is part of the Danish Trade Council, that helps Danish companies to get access to the Lithuanian market. In Riga the Baltic embassies have a Cultural Institute.

In the left column the three departments of the embassy are presented.
