Prime Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen and Minister of Defence Claus Hjort Frederiksen on a working visit to Lithuania

Yesterday, 15 January, Prime Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen and Minister of Defence Claus Hjort Frederiksen arrived at the Lithuanian Air Force Air Base at Zokniai. The delegations were met by Ambassador Dan E. Frederiksen, the Lithuanian Minister of Defence Raimundas Karoblis and high-ranking officials of the Foreign Affairs Ministry. 

 

The visit commenced with the Prime Minister’s meeting with President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė, during which Heads of States discussed bilateral relations, including security and defence cooperation, eFP and Baltic Air Policing as well as the EU-agenda, with focus on Brexit, EU future, the situation in Ukraine and other topicalities. 

 

In the meantime Minister Frederiksen had a working meeting with his Lithuanian colleague. 

At the end of the visit Prime Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen and Minister Claus Hjort Frederiksen toured the Air Base facilities and met the Danish soldiers who have just started their already sixth rotation of the NATO Baltic Air Policing mission in Lithuania.
