Strategic alliances

The purpose of the program for strategic business alliances is to increase SME’s internationalisation by collaborating with larger Danish companies to strengthen the width of the portfolio.

To use the program, the Trade Council requirements of a strategic business alliance must be fulfilled, and the requirements are:

  • at least three Danish companies are part of the alliance;
  • foreign companies can be part of the alliance however,  at least 50% of the companies in the alliance must be Danish;
  • 50% of the Danish companies must fulfil the Trade Council’s requirements of an SME:
    o have a Danish CVR number;
    o less than 100 employees in the company;
    o a turnover below 150 million kr. 
  • if the alliance is made up of three Danish companies, one of these companies must fulfil the above requirements;
  • system export is a requirement;
  • one of the participating companies must lead the alliance.

The programme for strategic business alliances include:

  • 50% subsidy is granted when a specific business alliance purchases a counselling package of 105 hours from the Trade Council;
  • up to four counselling packages can be given to a specific business alliance and the packages can be used on one or more markets.
