Besides studying at an institution of higher education, it is also possible to take one or more courses at one of the Danish Folk High Schools. The concept of folk high schools is part of a Danish tradition of popular education, which does not correspond to the high schools found in Anglo-Saxon countries. The folk high schools are non-formal residential schools offering learning opportunities in almost any subject, including history, arts, music, sports, philosophy, theatre, photography etc. The schools individually decide the content of the courses and there are no tests or exams.
