about us
The Embassy promotes Danish interests in Lithuania and Denmark's and Lithuania's common interests as well as engages with civil society in Lithuania.
Denmark was one of the first countries to recognize the independence of Lithuania and re-established the diplomatic relations on 24 August 1991. Since those times, Lithuania has achieved outstanding results and until this day, we continue working together as close partners and friends in bilateral and multilateral settings. Lithuania and Denmark share same liberal and democratic values and seek to protect principles of freedom as members of the EU, NATO and UN.
The Embassy works with political and trade issues. The Defence Attaché covers all three Baltic countries. The Danish Cultural Institute, which is located in Riga, works on the promotion of the Danish culture in the Baltic States.
