Denmark and Netherlands are ready to strengthen Ukrainian Air Force with donation of F-16 Fighter Jets

Denmark and the Netherlands yesterday had the honor of receiving Ukraine’s President, First Lady, National Security Advisor and Foreign Minister. During these visits, our two nations announced a joint donation of F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine with the support of the USA.

Denmark’s very strong commitment to Ukraine stems from the recognition that European and global security depends on the restoration of the rule-based order as enshrined in the UN Charter. We have decided to take this step, because it is essential that we support Ukraine in securing their air space against Russian continued aggression.

The Danish government stated that a donation of aircrafts will be vital for efforts related to ensuring Ukraine a fully functional F-16 capability and invited other nations to participate in the joint coalition of F16 training. This Friday, 73 Ukrainians arrived in Denmark and their training has already begun.

With this donation, Denmark remains strongly committed to Ukraine’s fight for freedom and territorial integrity.
